Mannequins

An Impossible Standard of Beauty (by Sam Leo)

I think it's absolutely absurd that fashion stores keep perpetuating and pushing this impossible standard of beauty on society. Just look at the mannequins in display windows. All of those clothes may look great on a mannequin, but I'm not a mannequin. A real person just doesn't have the physique of a mannequin. Real people have... heads, and whole arms, and legs...

What kind of message does this send to the kids of today? That only headless, armless people that have a stick going up their backs to help them stand up are good looking? I say nay. I refuse to try to conform to this impossible standard... I refuse to cut off my head and arms. The Compendium
