I love Sting. And who wouldn't? He's a consummate musician whose songwriting is a joy for the musician and non-musician alike. His songs incorporate a variety of world influences, with the intelligent chords of modern jazz. He loves odd time signatures (so do I, incidentally). He alternately tells stories, delivers social commentary, or delves into interesting philosophies.
Although in recent years I feel that some of Kipper's production decisions have detracted from Sting's albums, I still hold Sting in high regard as a performer and songwriter. He has helped me find my own musical direction by showing me that I can integrate my wide variety of influences rather than pursue them seperately.
