Dick King-Smith has written many incredibly good books. Some may scorn me for really liking a juvenile fiction author, but I consider him vastly creative and cool. As you may or may not know, he wrote the book upon which was based the excellent movie Babe.
If you have ever read E. B. White's Trumpet of the Swan (which I read 80 times as a kid), then you may have a good idea of what his books are like. Most involve talking animals, often with one animal doing something iconoclastic or mold-breaking.
King-Smith has written many stellar books, including, but not limited to: The Fox Busters, Martin's Mice, Harry's Mad, and The Queen's Nose.
